Rigorous quality control right from the raw material stage assures confidence in any application.
We also provide our customers with added peace of mind through processing to eliminate even superficial scratches on the wire products we manufacture.

As it is difficult to detect and locate minute flaws that may occur in the rolling process, we use a process known as shaving to completely remove any surface defects on the matelial (Wire Rod) by passing it through a special die.
In general, this process is mainly applied to steel wire for valve springs used in automobile engines, but it can also be applied to other springs and wire materials that require this level of flaw management.

2. Flaw detection (eddy current)

We reinforce our flaw management with a two-step approach: detection/removal at both the product manufacturing and the product inspection stages. This multi-stage detection and removal of any flaws assures that our customers will have optimal peace of mind.
The inspection process is comprised of intermediate inspection during the manufacturing process through eddy current flaw detection and another inspection at the finished product stage.
Eddy current testing is a non-destructive testing method that utilizes electromagnetism—specifically, the eddy current generated when an alternating current coil is placed close to a metal test piece—to detect any defects in the material.

In the intermediate inspection, a penetrating eddy current flaw detector installed in the wire drawing machine detects and removes any scratches along the entire length of the wire. This is followed by multiple levels of inspection at the product stage: penetrant eddy current flaw detection and removal in the wire drawing machine, and a double flaw detection inspection using both offline penetrant and rotary type detection. (There are some restrictions on what products can use offline flaw detection.)
